Jaguar C-Type build nearing completion
March 28, 2025Around 125 Cobra MKI’s were built between 1962 and 1963. Complete cars less drivetrain were built by AC in England, and these cars were exported to Shelby in the USA where the Ford Windsor small block V8 was fitted with the Ford T10 gearbox. While early MKI’s had 260 cubic inch engines, later cars changed over to the 289 cubic inch engine.
The MKII featured modified front suspension including rack and pinion steering for the first time. Around 500 MKII cars were produced between 1963 and 1965.
Our Cobra is a faithful reproduction of the original MKII. Many believe this to be the best driving Cobra with great performance and sharp and nimble handling. A kerb weight of around 1000kg gives great power to weight, and the car has a well balanced weight distribution. With a hand built aluminium body, and original style chassis and suspension our MKII Cobra drives authentically.
